چکیده

Abstract This study examines how patients use narratives to evaluate their experiences of healthcare services online. The analysis draws on corpus linguistic techniques, specifically annotation, applying Labov and Waletzky’s (1967) framework a sample online comments about the NHS in England. Narratives are pervasive this context, being present more than absent patients’ comments, but particularly prominent which care negatively. Evaluations can be accomplished through all structural elements narrative, including combination with one another. However, presence ordering these does not seem influenced by type evaluation given (i.e. positive, negative or neutral). As mediated social practice, shaped technological affordances dynamics for instance placement particular design “imagined” audiences.
